Mondrian at Sea Containers House

The first Mondrian branded hotel in London, a prominent London riverfront location, home to 360 rooms and many facilities.

Situated on the banks of the Thames, Sea Containers House holds a commanding position on the river between the OXO Tower and Blackfriars Bridge.

Design Research Studio was commissioned to convert the current office building back into a hotel, as originally conceived by architect Warren Platner. The redesigned space offers 360 rooms, two restaurants, rooftop bar, spa, cinema and conference facilities.

Part of the Morgan’s Hotel Group portfolio, the hotel is characterised by large-scale custom features referencing the transatlantic maritime history of the building; these will in turn become key branding elements. The hotel opened to the public in September 2014.
